In May of 2010, I went camping with friends.  I have made the joke that my idea of camping is the Marriott.  Last year, I had the opportunity to go camping in Joshua Tree National park and I took it!  I was heading to California for a wedding.  For someone who hasn’t been camping since the brownies in grade school, I don’t think I did too bad.  My friends that went with me may have a different opinion….thanks for putting up with me!

Here is where I was sleeping!

Thanks Cady and Jim!

And my view from the tent….

The day began with a yummy breakfast! I was glad to see the morning….the coyotes were singing during the night. Not something an east coast girl is used to hearing!

Let the day begin with hiking!

You don’t want to fall into this!
I see a cow? How about you?

Everyone said we should go to see the skull rock…..

Yes, it was cool….but none of us were that impressed!

After a full day of hiking I was happy to see the restaurant! The food and beer were YUMMY!

The night brought a great opportunity for some fun without the technology and pics!

Life is about experiencing new things and going out of your comfort zone! Thank you to Cady and Jim (and their friends) for dealing with a novice camper!
