The beauty of the Douro is amazing and the pictures don’t do it justice. It is why the region is consistently voted on the most beautiful wine regions in the world. The cascading vineyards on the sloping hills toward the Douro River are amazing at every turn. This does make for fun driving and we were extremely happy that we had drivers who are experienced with the roads of the Douro. We started our second day with Wine Moments & Gourmet at The House of Sandeman. We visited their Quinta do Seixo vineyard. This the most recognizable port out there by the logo. It is a man in a black cape and hat. Our guide dressed in the cape as well. We were concentrating on the tasting that I forgot to take pictures of what we were tasting or the beautiful tasting room.
While we were heading to our second Quinta of the day, we passed Quinta Nova, where we were staying during our visit to the Douro Valley. I recommend Quinta Nova. There is a great restaurant, staff and amazing retreat.
So beautiful! 🙂 🙂 And the guy with the cape, a bit like the bull that you see on hillsides in Spain, an instant symbol. Fond memories of sailing past him. All the best to you in 2018!
