Our destination for our walk up the steep hill was the stunning Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. As we ascended, the winding path offered us glimpses of the vibrant city surrounding us, and we couldn’t help but marvel at the architecture and charm of Lyon. Finally, we made it to the top, and it was absolutely worth the trek! The moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped by the serene atmosphere and intricate details of the Basilica’s design. It was undeniably beautiful, and we felt incredibly fortunate to experience this amazing site up close. This is, without a doubt, my favorite Notre Dame that we have seen thus far in our travels. The Basilica, built between 1872 and 1884, showcases a stunning blend of architectural styles that leave visitors in awe. The breathtaking interior, adorned with magnificent mosaics and sculptures, was simply captivating, while the panoramic views of Lyon from the terrace were nothing short of gorgeous, providing the perfect backdrop for creating lifelong memories.

It is a beautiful Basilica…especially the interior. I can see why it would be a favorite.
