As I had mentioned in a previous blog, we walked up to Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière from the center of Lyon. It was “fun” walk. After touring the Basilica, we saw a metro stop across the street. We were laughing that is was a five-minute ride from the center of town to the Basilica. Our walk took us well over an hour. The other funny part was us trying to buy metro tickets. We had trouble using US credit cards because we didn’t have chip in the card. So, we ended up paying someone to add tickets to their purchase. It was definitely easier to go down the mountain.

After we stepped out of the metro stop, we saw one of the best things- crepes being made on the street! We were so excited for this sweet treat. It might be hard to believe, but this was our first time getting crepes made one the street. Yes, I know, it was our third trip. It was the perfect way to end our trip to the Basilica. Thank you ladies for a fun afternoon!

I so enjoyed your trip up the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière with all the marvelous alleyways and dramatic vistas; however, the trip down did make me laugh. So often I have danced and swayed in front of metro and trolley ticket machines trying to figure out what I needed to purchase and how to purchase it. While the people behind me grumble and huff and puff. What a treat to find at the end of your journey……….crepes in the street ……always the most tasty! I am so glad you finally had one!!
