We had a beautiful visit to Clos du Caveau, which is located in Vacqueyras, FR. It is another GREAT wine region in the Rhône. Philip from La Madeléne picks the best wineries! It was a very down to earth visit, I felt like I was at a family members house with great wine and food. The winemaker/owner Henri Bungener was an amazing host during our visit. He took us on a great walk around the vineyard, showed us the construction of the new tasting room (now open), and a great lunch! Love the pictures on Facebook of the new tasting room and will love seeing the finished product on a return visit. Henri’s son and his friends were there during our visit. They helped create a delicious lunch. One of the friend’s was the daughter of cookbook author Ghillie Basan and some of the lunch was from her cookbook. We had a great lunch al fresco on the terrace. It was perfect weather for lunch and wine tasting! Thank you Henri for an amazing visit.
