I don’t know why I noticed this, but all the fire hydrants I saw this week were not red. Here is an example of two that I saw while in Rhode Island. Are they not red anymore?
Loved this! I used to work in Beverly Hills and the fire hydrants there are GOLD! Painted gold, that is. I haven’t seen a red fire hydrant in ages– they’re all yellow where I live, north of L.A. in Valencia. Wonder why that is?
This post has made me wonder…have I seen one in London? I’ll have to look. I see red phone booths and mail boxes but I can’t recall any fire hydrants.

On Tucson where my parents live they are bright yellowish green!
