In May 2023, I went on vacation with my parents to Burlington, VT. We always looks for a couple of things to do with loose plans. When I looked at the map, I realized that we were very close to the Canadian province of Quebec. It is a large province and so much to see, we drove around the southern area. I would love to return. For those who know me, know my heart is in France and it felt like I was in France. It was quite interesting for my parents who don’t speak French and people were so kind. I made attempts to speak a little French and it went a long way.

Enosburg Falls

While we were driving to Quebec, we saw a sign for a waterfall. If you have been following me, you know with my parents we like to visit covered bridges and waterfalls. We followed the signs for Enosburg falls and made a quick stop. It was beautiful in the valley and with the clouds it was dramatic.

Poterie Pluriel Singulier

When we were driving to to find a place for lunch, we needed to find a restroom. We were on the back roads and there was not much around. I don’t speak fluent French, but I do know enough to “get by.” I saw a sign for Poterie, so I knew I would like to buy something and hope they had a bathroom to use. I love visiting local artisans and bringing a piece of them home. Every time I use their products, I remember vacations and smile. While there, I bought garlic container and a stand to make chicken. My dad is not a “fan” of chicken, but he complimented me on the chicken I made. To me that is a win! I will add that into the rotation of meals for them.

They are currently rebuilding their shop and studio after a fire. I loved their pottery!

Café San Frontieres

We found Café San Frontieres by accident and it was a treasure. We didn’t realize that it was a community café till the end. I was wondering why every one that came in went into the kitchen to help and get their coffee. Our server let us know he was an engineer and the cook was in marketing. A gentleman was speaking to my parents in French and they were so confused. It was cute to see them just smiling and nodding. I felt like I was in France and absolutely loved it! Our food was delicious and prices were amazing! Every community should have one of these.

Pont Couvert des Rivières

My parents were so happy that we saw a waterfall and covered bridge! It was our first covered bridge in Canada. It was built in 1884. It’s our favorite thing to do, when we see a sign for something, we want to do…..we do it. Neither of things were planned and was so fun.

Le Rosay Hôtel Boutique

As we were driving back to Vermont we followed route 202 and it was a beautiful drive along the Bay of Champlain. We loved the little towns and it was before high season, so it was wasn’t that crowded. We need to find a restroom and I want thank the restaurant at Le Rosay Hôtel Boutique for allowing us to use their restroom. The views were amazing of Lake Champlain. This is place, I would love to stay!
