The Gateway Arch National Park, located in St. Louis, was added to my list of National Parks this week. During my visit for the Pi Sigma Epsilon Convention, I made sure to take some time to visit the iconic monument, since it was only a couple of blocks from my hotel. However, on that particular day, the weather had different plans for me. The fog that enveloped the park, creating an almost mystical atmosphere around The Arch. Due to the fog, I decided not to make the journey to the top. It did add a unique and memorable element to my visit. Despite not being able to ascend The Arch, I didn’t leave empty-handed. I made sure to collect my stamps for my National Park Passport book, marking this visit as a memory in my travel adventures.

The grounds surrounding the Gateway Arch were under construction the last time I was there and there are now beautiful!
I didn’t have much time to visit the museum, but it looked wonderful and I snapped a few photos. The Arch store is one of the best gift stores that I have seen at a National Park.

Basilica of Saint Louis, King of France
On the grounds of The Arch Gateway National Park is the Basilica of Saint Louis. While traveling, one of my favorite things to do is to visit churches. I was able to light some candles and the first statue I saw was St. Theresé, which is my confirmed name.
Centuries of history and spirituality blend harmoniously within the walls of the Basilica of Saint Louis. This remarkable sanctuary, situated within the breathtaking scenery of The Arch Gateway National Park, stands as a testament to both architectural grandeur and religious reverence. As I explored this place of worship, I couldn’t help but feel a profound sense of peace and serenity.
It was an especially poignant moment when I encountered the statue of St. Theresé, bearing the name that I received upon confirmation. The symbolism of this encounter filled me with a deep sense of spiritual significance, reinforcing the feeling of being on the right path. This encounter served as a poignant reminder of the timeless connection between faith, personal identity, and the journey of self-discovery.
