Anaheim, California, is not only home to renowned attractions like Disneyland, but also to a remarkable natural wonder that often goes unnoticed: a majestic ficus macrophylla standing tall on Katella Avenue near the Anaheim arena. Despite the city being primarily known for its entertainment industry and urban development, this magnificent tree has silently graced the area since the late 1960s, with some estimates suggesting it was planted as early as 1920. The ficus macrophylla, a grand evergreen Banyan native to Australia, is a testament to the enduring beauty and resilience of nature in an otherwise bustling urban landscape. I love this tree!
In 2015, I was in Anaheim for a National Association of Colleges and Employers conference. I went for a walk with my friends Norma and Curt, I believe it might have been the first time that I saw the tree. This photo is from that visit.

This year DECA was in Anaheim, so I visited there twice in the past eight months. I loved that I stayed at the Westin Anaheim and I walked past it everyday of the conference.
