This week, I was at the annual conference for Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers. The conference was at the Philadelphia Sheraton, which is located next to the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. I started Thursday of the conference attending mass with my friend Val. It was a great way to begin the day. It was my first time visiting the Cathedral and I remember as a child watching masses on TV from there during special masses. It is beautiful and so many places for prayers. The architecture of the Cathedral is truly impressive, with its stunning stained glass windows and intricately carved wooden pews. The sense of history and tradition within the walls of the Cathedral was palpable, and I found myself reflecting on the enduring legacy of faith and devotion that has been cultivated within its sacred space over the years. As I walked through the Cathedral, I couldn’t help but admire the intricate details of the artwork and the serene atmosphere that surrounded me. It was a deeply moving and spiritually enriching experience.

Located in the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul is the Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexel, a remarkable figure with a deep connection to Philadelphia. As I delved into the details of her inspiring life, it became evident that her unwavering dedication and philanthropic work left a profound impact, not only in Philadelphia but also far beyond. It’s fascinating to ponder the influence she had on the community and the lives she touched, igniting a sense of reverence and admiration among those who encountered her legacy. The resonance of her compassionate spirit and selfless acts may have lingered in the memories of those who were touched by her extraordinary journey, leaving an indelible mark that transcends time and generations.
