Have you ever constantly passed by something in your town and say, “I need to go there?” Well, that was The Talking Teacup for me. In 2021, under the ownership of Patti Fitzpatrick, it re-opened. She had worked with the previous owner Kathy as the scone maker, waitress and manager. Kathy passed from ovarian cancer and it closed for two years. It was a nice evening with six of us who live locally. It was a great gathering of local social media friends. Thank you to Britt Around Town for organizing. Check out the reel on Instagram that I made of our event.

I love supporting local businesses and people who are following their passion. As soon as we spoke with Patti, I knew our time there was going to be great. All of the menu items are made fresh. The menu is based on what is fresh at the market, so there aren’t exact menus posted. When you make your reservations, if you have any dietary restrictions, you can let them know. She was able to accommodate me being gluten free. Since I want to go with my friends and one of them is vegan, I asked if she could accommodate and she said yes. The items I had were delicious and I look forward to returning.

When you are at The Talking Teacup you feel like you are at your grandmother’s house. It’s a shabby chic. It’s very cozy and welcoming. The front room when you walk in is bright and cozy. It is also where the gift shop is located.
