As I write this, “Seven Years in Tibet” is showing on TV.  It is truly meant to be……this movie crossed my mind while experiencing this weekend.  This weekend was an unexpected experience in Doylestown.  I for the first time visited with the monks that were creating a Sand Mandala.  You can see the pictures in a previous post creating the masterpiece.  These date back to the time of the Buddha and are truly moving.  The monks created this to be swept away in a ceremony at the the end.  It took approximately 100 hours to create and 30 seconds to sweep away.  It is done my the monks completely by memory.  The purpose of the Sand Mandala is to show how nothing is permanent.

As I travel, I realize how many treasures we have around us…..open your eyes and you will be amazed at what you see!
