You couldn’t watch the news this week without the weather being the top story. Most of the country has been in a heat wave. In the Northeast, we are used to temperatures in the 9os in August. However, we are not used to the 100s in July. I have found myself doing all my errands in the morning, so I don’t have to go out in the heat. I saw a report on NBC news about how do you show a heat wave. In a snowstorm/blizzard, it is easy to show the extreme weather. Here are a few from a blizzard we had in February of 2010:
How do you show pics of heat?? People sweating? Struggling to exercise? I don’t have any pictures of the heatwave. What I have found is that my friends are starting to suffer from summer cabin fever. When it is 100+ outside and the heat index is 115, you don’t have the energy or motivation to do much. Which is worse cold or heat? I am not a fan of either extreme. When it is a blizzard, you are forced to not go anywhere. Also, in the COLD you can dress warm. In the HEAT it is tough to get cooler. However, with heat I feel guilty not doing anything. Why? What am I going to say, I am hot- sounds like a whimp.
Enjoy whatever weather you are having! And time with friends and family.
“Travel with Laughter”
We have only gotten to the high 80’s -low 90’s in northern Ontario and like you are accustom to hard winter weather. What we are having a difficult time with in our part of Ontario is the added humidity. Mid-Northern Ontario usually is less humid so that rise in temperature knocks us over. Hopefully summer will become a bit more accommodating for all of us.
