Boat Cruise in the Douro Valley- Portugal

A visit to the Douro Valley isn’t complete without a cruise on a Rabelo boat. Before railroads, the Rabelo boat was used to transport port wine from the Douro Valley (where it is produced) to Porto (where it was exported). Wine Moments and Gourmet arranged for a river cruise on the Pessagueiro boat and we left from Pinhão. We purchased a nice bottle of white wine from Quinta das Carvalhal to bring on the boat. We had perfect weather and the views were outstanding. It was great to see the Quinta’s from the river. Yet, another reason why the Douro Valley is one of the most beautiful wine regions. It was just the two of us on the boat, which was awesome!
